My
studio is located on the Northern California Coast where the ocean rattles
my windows in the winter and the fog dances through the redwoods all summer.As
it is, I am not a production potter in the traditional sense of the title.
I do some production work, but I insist on preserving my soul & keeping
my passion alive. All my work, be it a vase I spend a year creating, or a
mug made in a succession of many, each will be individual and unique. I specialize
in custom ceramic ware including glaze inlay tecniques, and low relief carved
detail (bas relief). Surrounded by the Redwood forest, Pacific Ocean and my
garden, I draw inspiration by all that is around me.
Most of the work that I produce is wheel thrown and altered in the leather-hard
stage. I use a white semi-porcelin body that gives me strength in my forms
and a light surface that optimizes glazing effects .
